The permission given by DGFT is valid for 18 months from the date of authorization. Once this period is over, the importer needs to get another authorization from DGFT. The consent granted by the State for the set up of scrap processing plant is valid for 5-7 years based on the status of environmental clearance sought by the proprietor but for Micro & Small scale green category projects, this validity is 15 years with CTO & CTE combined, The validity of CTO also varies from 5 to 15 years based on the projects’ category. The proprietor can extend the validity period by renewing it at least 30 days before the expiry of the consent by making an application on the portal of the respective state.
